Caring For Your Fur

Receiving your fur

So you’ve just bought your beautiful new garment and you want to take care of it!

It’s important to note that whilst Unreal Fur is 100% synthetic, its fibres act almost identically to real fur with the garments themselves being hand-crafted by professional furriers (turned faux).

When first receiving your garment, just like real fur, the garment is expected to shed. Once opening your Unreal Fur package, take the faux-fur out and give it a good shake to loosen any shedding hair.

Again, any loose, shed fur, can easily be removed by a garment brush, or sticky roll.

General Care

As Unreal Fur’s garments are designed to act and sit like regular fur, it’s important to maintain good general care to extend the longevity of the garment.

Your fur coat should always be hung on a broad, sturdy padded hanger to keep the shoulders from losing their shape. The neck of the hanger should be long enough to keep the collar of the coat away from the hanging rod.

When hanging your garment in the closet, allow for room between the faux-fur piece and your other garments to allow the fur to be able to breathe. If this is not done, similarly to real fur, the fibres may absorb smells and moisture that sit in the other garments.

Cleaning your faux-fur

Again, similarly to real fur, your new faux-fur garment should never be cleaned in a personal washing machine + dryer; this will damage the fur, and could lead to irreversible loss.

All Unreal Fur garments should be cleaned in a certified dry cleaner who is well experienced in cleaning and maintaining fur. Additionally, the faux-fur pieces can be cleaned at an official furrier’s cleaning facility.

It is important to note to any dry cleaner, that the product is a synthetic product, and to avoid any extreme temperatures. Any fires or extreme temperatures can lead to irreversible damage to your garment.
